Author – Mabon ap Gwynfor

Mabon ap Gwynfor is the member of the Senedd (the Welsh Parliament) for the constituency of Dwyfor Meirionnydd. He lives on the family farm in north Wales with his wife and four children.

Mabon is a lifelong peace activist and anti-war campaigner. He is Plaid Cymru – The Party of Wales’ spokesperson on Housing, Planning, Rural Affairs, and north Wales.

After being elected to the Senedd in May 2021 Mabon found himself being lobbied heavily by businesses associated with the nuclear sector and supporters of the sector, who wanted to see a new nuclear reactor developed within his constituency.

He asked several broad and difficult questions and was promised each time that they would come back with a briefing note to answer the questions raised. Those briefing notes never came. Consequently, he carried out his own research into the issues by contacting global experts and asking for meetings and reading research papers, articles and books by respected experts in the field.

Going Nuclear is the culmination of that detailed research.
